COVID-19 Service Update

England restrictions from 5 November 2020 - DC Iron will remain open during the restrictions in England, supplying the construction industry with essential goods. 

Quick Status Overview

Call Centre Open as Usual. We are receiving an increase in demand for calls but are answering the vast majority as normal. Please consider e-mailing sales@dciron.co.uk for customer service queries. 
Trade Counter Closed
Collections Open with distancing procedures
National Deliveries Most orders being dispatched for next day delivery but we are unable to advise a cut off order time. 
DC Iron Van Deliveries We are offering a limited local delivery service where it is cost effective and safe for our driver to deliver. 

Warehouse & Office

At present we are able to offer orders over the phone and online for delivery via national couriers. We can handle all customer service queries via telephone or e-mail or WhatsApp. Some staff are working from home where possible. Where they are unable to do so, we have sufficient space in our premises to meet distancing guidelines and we have implemented a number of procedures to keep colleagues safe following Government guidelines. 

National Deliveries

We are experienceing a high demand for our products, and our staff are working overtime to keep up with the demand. We are still dispatching the majority of orders for next day delivery but are unable to advise a suitable order cut off time. 

It is possible that delays will happen due to the huge strain on the national courier networks. Please allow 2-3 days for delivery. 

Please consider emailing sales@dciron.co.uk about customer service queries as our call centre is currently receiving a high volume of calls partiuclarly around chasing deliveries. We are responding to e-mails typically within a couple of hours during the working day. 

Local Deliveries

We are currently offering a limited local delivery service where it is cost effective and safe for us to do so. We no longer offer discounted delivery prices and you will be charged according to our national next day delivery prices. 

Trade Counter Sales/Collections

As from Tuesday 24th March, the trade counter (In Swalwell, Newcastle upon Tyne) will be closed to customers and the general public to safeguard our staff and to minimise any unnecessary contact with each other. The trade counter will remain closed for the forseeable future as we would be unable to manage the procedures that we would be required to put in place. 

From 11 May, we are operating a limited collection service with social distancing measures in place. All orders must be placed in advance over the phone. You must call the office upon arrival and please follow the instructions the sales advisor gives you where to collect goods. 

Stock & Service

We have very large stockholdings and are able to continue offering our same great service. Even if there is disruption in the supply chain, we will have stocks to cover the vast majority of our range for at least 12 months.
