The internet is full of self closing, gravity latches but none of them were suitable for my specific requirements.
I had in mind a very simple, bomb-proof gravity latch that would last for ever and always work.
Finally, I found the precise latch on DC Iron's site. It's very cost effective (really not much money), which is always a bonus.
The picture is a gate I made out of scrap (still to be painted) with the latch in place.
Brilliant product, as advertised. My only comment would be the cost of postage. The item was £1.70 + vat but the next day delivery cost over £10. I didn't need it the next day and would have used the option for standard postage given the opportunity.
